In 1882, brothers Luigi and Ferdinando Bertagni founded the filled pasta shop Pastificio Bertagni in Bologna, Italy. The pasta they exhibited won a bronze medal at the 1889 Paris World's Fair and a gold medal at the 1904 St. Louis World's Fair. The brothers not only created high-quality filled pasta, but also researched ways to package and preserve it.
More than 130 years after its founding, the company continues to make filled pasta according to traditional recipes from Bologna, Italy. The secret to deliciousness is simple recipes, high-quality ingredients, cooking techniques, and passion. The pasta dough is made from semolina flour, fresh eggs, and water.
