A spectacular view known as a "mirror in the sky"
The Uyuni Salt Flats is a vast salt lake located at an altitude of about 3,700m on the Altiplano (a high, flat plateau area) surrounded by the Andes Mountains in central-western Bolivia, stretching approximately 100km north to south and 250km east to west, with an area of approximately 10,582km2.
This land was formed when an ancient ocean rose 1.8 million years ago, and is the flattest land in the world, with an elevation difference of just 50cm.
Looking around from the center of Shiobara, you will see a pure white plain as far as the eye can see, and the cold climate will give you the illusion of being in the middle of a snowy field. The way the saltwater lake reflects the sky is called the "mirror of the sky," and it is one of the most scenic spots in the world. It is a place where you can enjoy the mysteries of nature and the spectacular views that you will want to see at least once in your life.
